Whitsett, 31, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Brooklyn, New York with his beloved mother, Joann Craig, at just three months old. Growing up in Bedford Stuyvesant as a relatively shy and quiet kid brought challenges, he said. "Whew Brooklyn was crazy no joke."

1: WHAT I DO
Derrick is an award winning Playwright and writer of children’s books, poetry, and more. Derrick obtained his B-Tech from New York City College of Technology. He is currently working on a theater production set to debut in the fall.  


In technical terms, my skillset resides in the areas of writing + editing + copywriting + authorship + branding & identity.
